After a long aviation career in the military and defence contracting industry, I tactically moved to the Eyre Peninsular for some well deserved respite for my family and I. Well that didn't happen.
Working as a Precision Agricultural Specialist for a family owned New Holland dealership and starting the side-hustle of beaming people up (which is certainly needed down here), has seen me burning the candle at both ends. Well, that is what us veterans do. We like to keep the intensity alive and give back our particular and unique skillsets to the community. Afterall, that is what we were trained to do.
It was quickly evident from my visits to farming customers, that there was a great need to assist them with their substandard communications issues in the field. We will all be dead in the grave before our national carriers achieve this.
Along came Sir Elon and SpaceX with their constellation of flying stars in the sky, giving the world communication and data access at speeds never seen before in rural communities. I am suspicious that this may be the beginning of the 'SkyNet' that we are familiar with from 'The Terminator' movie.
